Well, I just couldn't leave it alone. I installed a custom intake bought from eBay just as the N/A Legacy guys do. I had put one on my wife's Legacy and gave her good power with the sound to match. On the H6, the sound isn't as dominating as the 2.5's. But, man, does it sound good! I noticed a little bit better power, but the ecu still has to figure out what it wants to do with it. Like I said, the 2.5 liters benefited well from it and I'm hoping the H6 will, also. As of now I am still utilizing the oem air filter. I'm sure a K&N filter may yield better results and increase the sound a bit. If anyone is interested I can do a write-up for this very easy install.

I would like some more info it looks great! I am getting a 2006 Tribeca on Monday to supplement the 2005 Forester XS premium we just got. Got a great deal on it 8,000 miles, fully warrantied as it was a program car. I already added a K&N to it but my wife drives at 80 all the time so I only picked up about 2 mpg. It is cold though so I'm hoping for a bigger mileage improvement once warm weather gets here.

Have you seen any improvements?
I put it on so early that I don't really know what stock is like. My milage is the same as everyone else. I ended up putting the big boxy silencer on the bottom of the airbox back on. It was too loud for me. It was loud enough to scare a driver when I floored it to pass him (I laughed hard!). Now it has a real nice, mellow growl. I like it a lot. Maybe if I get a chance I can make a quick video of the sound for your comparison.
Let's see your DIY!
