Hi guys, just wanted to swap a worn leather interior seat to one in better condition, both looked identical, same body cars too. However when I was trying to reconnect the switches, 1 out of 4 was different (which is weird because the passenger side matched).
One is black with 4 wires, the other one (on the new seat) is white with 5 cables... Tried to locate it on the wiring diagrams but no luck. Does anyone have any idea what it could be and how to move on from here? Thanks

06-07 was so called prefacelift (ugly face :D), 08+ is so called facelift... (more civil :D
also - question is - with or without memory? (actually - this might be the difference)

if one is prefacelift and other is facelift - you need to look at different FSM-s. (like MY 2009 schematics - drivers seat with memory has multiple 5pin connector and 4pin connectors.
in MY 2006 there are no 4 or 5 pin connectors.

Both are from facelift models (same body, lights, even colour code was same).
Oh well, thats above my knowledge. I have the wiring diagrams but can't find that connector... I'm no electrician :)

1) I hate to repeat myself, but "also - question is - with or without memory? (actually - this might be the difference) "????
2) need to make CLEAR picture of connector, because - if that seat is WITHOUT memory - there are two possibilities
Screenshot - R193 and R194 (if you have multimeter - 2minutes to find out which)

if the seat is WITH memory - Screenshot
there are way more possibilities( R281, R192, R193, R194, R191 ), but, again, with multimeter - few minutes.

Both memory seats. 1 2 M. Seats look totally identical, except this connector.

uuuuu... just checked 2014 wiring diagram - there are some changes. so - MY differ on both seats. but, looking at wiring diagrams - I don't see why the seat shouldn't work.

If I am guessing right - your "new" seat is from newer MY and that connector on old seat with 4 wires and 5wires on new - just has additional wire for VDC. it should work when plugged in.
is that connector in question with 8pins in a row?

That's the problem... I can't just plug in, it doesn't fit, they're different. I'll take some photos tomorrow, it's almost midnight over here now :)

oh, shoot. I mistakenly was looking at R198 not R188...
anyway - if you are replacing seat and throwing old one out - you can carefully disassamble those connectors - and plug pins on your new seat into old seats connector body.
be sure to isolate "leftover" pins from each other and from touching ground, +12 or whatever surrounding there .

if you are not sure about doing that - https://www.amazon.com/Extractor-Depinning-Household-Connector-Protective/dp/B0922GF9W8 - this is helpful ;)

yep.
as I said - I would disassemble old seats connector and put it on new seats wires/pins with that mentioned tool (or even without - if you are brave enough :D
