I'm a newish owner of an '08 and all the drivers in our family are unhappy with the throttle feel on the Tribeca. There's basically a "dead spot" as you first depress the pedal (maybe 3/4" of travel) then it accelerates quickly. As a result, even our very experienced drivers are occasionally lurching away from stops. You can sort of feather it into a gentle start but it takes a conscious effort to do so and results in delayed starts.

I'm wondering if 1) this is normal throttle response, 2) if it's adjustable somehow, and 3) if both answers are no, is there some way to fix it?

Thanks,

K

What I feel sometime, is a little delay in the transmission engagement. Since in the meantime I start to accelerate, the result is an uncomfortable sudden push from the back. Are you sure that it can't be your case too? I got used to wait a second after pulling the transmission in 'D', before starting to accelerate.

I'm seriously interested in other impressions about that.
