I am the recent owner of an awesome 2008 Tribeca 7-passgr with nav, rse and rear park assist.
I also have 140,000 miles on the clock and am in the market for a service contract/ext warrty.
I am debating between getting a powertrain only plan or something more comprehensive, that includes ("luxury high tech")the dvd player, nav screen auto climate and backup cam.
Those of you who have had repair issues, given the amount of sensors and other electronics, I was leaning towards the higher end one. I intend to keep the truck for 3-4 years.
Thanks in advance for your input.

At 140k, you should either consider a newer car or just pay to get things fixed when they go bad. I can't imagine what the powertrain would cost at this age.

That said, as long as the car has been well taken care of, the Subaru 3.6L is a well regarded engine. However, you will have some maintenance and normal sensor issues with that age.
