I read the owners manual and couldn't find the answer. Should the alarm go off when you open the door with just the key and not the keyless? Where we live the keyless doesn't work well depending on location and when I unlocked the door with the key the alarm went off and didn't turn off until I put the key in the ignition. It doesn't happen when I follow the same procedure with my legacy gt. Anybody else notice this?

According to section 2-14 of the owners manual if you either locked the care with the remote or hitting the lock switch on the door it should unless it's in valet mode I suppose.

Most alarms are like that since they can't tell if you used a key or if you reached in an open window and manually unlocked it. I would say it's normal.
