RomRaider/ECUFLASH - Tribeca Tuning

Hey Guys,

I've been lurking through the LEGACYGT.com forum and happened to come across this link.

RomRaider ? View topic - Tribeca Tuning - From Start to Finish - Gotchas and Tricks

So I took the plunge and purchased the OPENPORT 2.0 cable, downloaded the RomRaider/ECUFLASH and took the tips from the post.

OMG! This is the best decision I've made so far for the Tribeca! Throttle lag -GONE! My fuel consumption has increased to 22-23MPG and the throttle response is so good it feels like the car is 500lbs lighter. SIMPLY incredible!

Any DIYer should give this a try.

Yep, big thumbs up for XRT - thanks for suggesting them. Decided to get in touch with Ed as I don't have the balls to fiddle with ROM tables. Posted my experiences here Subaru Tribeca 3.6 H6 (2011 EDM model) Feedback - Xtreme Racing Tuning

Hi Peter,

Would love to know what fuel you tuned it for and what the impact on the fuel economy has been. The fuel economy for normal driving that is, you may still be having too much fun to know.

What sort of price did the tune cost?
Thank you Peter. It was a please working with you.

She been adjusted for maximum attached. I'm not sure what the fuel eco would be like, but could be better since he has better gas than in the USA, which allowed for better timing. But his cats prevents full topend flow. It's a very nice car at his cold temps. I am still awaiting stock and final tune gear pulls to show the power difference, but if the customer is happy, I don't really care about such graphs.

Next mod should be a turbo like the BW EFR6758 or EFR7163.

Tribeca tuning is $540usd (based cost)

Fuel is Shell V-power 100 RON. Driving it harder right now :), so far though not much fuel economy impact on the winding very hilly daily route - around 13-14L/100km.
Hey guys, this week I purchased a 2013 Tribeca. I am hoping that all will go well with it.

I found the lowend tq is good for such a heavy vehicle, but the topend is weak. :)

Once it is delivered, I will get a little seat time before a tune.
@risingsun1019 did you do some logging after testing Bamofo's tune? did you do your own tuning on ecu maps?
I think on my car - I got better fuel economy on original tune, but responsivness and mass airflow was better on Bamofos tune...

Hey,

I use BtSsm for logging. Used Bamofo's tune as a baseline, found the throttle lag from the OEM DBW tune to be HORRENDEOUS! Closed loop is target AFR so ignition timing tweaks are beneficial. I have also found success with adjusting AVCS timing. But the stock Cams really limit the airflow to make any appreciable HP. Was able to find a nice bump in torque in the lower RPMS, improved the throttle response and increased my MPG.
btw, are there separate fueling and ignition maps for sport mode and separate for usual mode?

recent discussion in chat ignited my interes to compare how much air 3.6 engine gets with original calibrations and with Bamofo ones. in engine tuning - that's the main issue - get more air.
X-rpm
Y-g/sec of air.
Orange is where Bamofo calibrations loose
Red is where Bamofo calibrations win.
