I just installed a rear camera for my smart mirror rear view mirror but did so right below the spoiler and it got wet yesterday. It pretty much rendered it useless until it dried off.

Is this a problem with the OEM camera and location? Why not if it isn't?

I mounted it up high so that I can see over my utility trailer. I am pretty happy with the view up high otherwise.

Pointers?

Thanks

Rain-X is the best suggestion that I could find. Apparently, this problem is very common.

aerodynamics? (why not an issue for original location)
Maybe. It is positioned where it doesn't get in the way of air flow at all. Do you have the rear camera on yours? Hopefully the Rain-x does the trick.

Stock rear camera is above the rear license plate and to the right slightly. It is well covered by the pop out above it but still needs to get wiped off occasionally, especially in the winter.
