I had to change the rear window glass (burglars broke it)

Original glass had a tinted laminated protection.
When I put the new one the antenna signal almost went dead.

I know Subaru says you can't do that as the antenna is imprinted in the glass, but my earlier glass also had the antenna, and had also been laminated.
I've also seen other Tribecas and they don't have the problem.

The antenna worked ok when the new glass was mounted, and I've checked connection, and that the antenna imprinted wires are ok.

Has someone had this problem?

Bad reception

Hi Kito,

My 2007 Tribeca had tinted windows when I bought it. I found that this affects the reception which in my case is very poor.

If your replacement windscreen is not tinted, did they not perhaps damage the antenna wire when they took out the old windscreen? I.e. beyond the connections that you can see.

Regards

Paul
