Nav while driving

Hello all,

Just took delivery of my 7 passenger B9 yesterday. My wife will drive it mostly, leaving the WRX for me to play with!

Anyone know how to modify the navigation system to allow operation while in drive. It would be nice for the passenger to be able to change destinations while moving.

Thanks,

It would require a software hack of some sort as this was done deliberately by Subaru to reduce driver distraction.
My friend found a way to do it in his G35. I will have to ask him. Maybe it will help figure out how to on the Tribeca.
try searching for Kenwood Nav mods.. I believe the Tribeca uses a Kenwood system
Don't these systems just monitor a safety switch on the Park/Neutral position or an e-brake switch? If those are wired anything like the STi switches, grounding the monitored switch (at the head unit if available or the switch itself) should bypass that lockout. This is all conjecture at this point of course.
I heard

I heard you could watch the DVD through the Nav screen with the Parking brake depressed one click/notch, maybe the same goes for the Navigation lockout. Don't know personally, mine is a base model. Let us know.
