How to cancel navigation during trip?

Hello,

Is there a way to cancel the navigation instructions in the middle of the trip?

I haven't been able to find any "cancel" buttons when I no longer want to use the system during a trip.

thanks in advance!

yes there is a way. not sure if i remember but look for "cancel guidance"
Hi there! I actually ran into this issue today. If you hit the "Menu" button and then select "Route Options", there will be a "Cancel Guidance" button on the lower right hand corner of the screen.

I was hoping that there was a more direct way to cancel guidance, but I was unable to find one.
Thanks, I'll try that.
I think that there should be a button located on the corner of the screen that allows you to stop the navigation at any time.
Yeah- it's a bit of a bummer that it's about 4 button pushes to get 'becky to shut up. I've permanently turned the volume to 'zero' on her.

Like I need another woman telling me how to drive.:p

What they need is a no audio mode that can toggle on and off easily. I want to enter the destination and chart the course BEFORE I start driving and then turn it on when I actually get into the unknown area, but then I must have my music interrupted every two seconds for something obvious which is annoying. The only option seems to be cancel guidance completely.

Also, what is up with the thing on freeways? If I stay on any given freeway for any given time, the stupid thing just chimes in and tells me to "Continue" on the freeway I am already on. The damn thing should only tell me directions when there is an actual course correction I am going to have to make. The 405 North here in S California is really prone to this issue...

Maybe they will fix this when they finally give us real-time traffic info?:mad:
There is the option to go into the setup and set the nav voice very low. Haven't tried it so I don't know if it can be muted completely this way or not. Fiddle around in the nav setup and you will find it.

It *can* be muted completely... which is a good thing.:) If you really want to hear Becky talking, you can hit the little speaker button in the lower right corner of the screen and she'll talk to you.

The problem isn't the voice per se, it's the fact it turns the music volume to very low so the voice doesn't have to yell over the music. I play my music very loud, and it sucks when it constantly fades in and out when the whore needs to speak.

They need to have a "Audio Guidance" On/Off toggle button that can be pressed at any time during guidance that will keep all of the nav info, but will just effect if it gives any audio indication or not. Obviously, with it off, I'd expect the fade effect not occuring at all.

Another entertaining alternative is to switch from "English (female)" to "English (male)." We call the male voice "Jeeves." He's got more personality than Becky.
