my new tribeca was driven for only 280 miles so far, so still in the 1000 miles break-in period.

but the average MPG for the first full tank gas is about 15, below the 16 local/21 hwy.

any expert can justify if it's normal to get such a low mpg with break-in?

many thx!

YES NORMAL,

IT WILL CONTINUE to go up.

WE took a trip of 400 mile round trip at the 500 mile mark and averaged 21.5 going and 20.7 coming back at 65-80 m.p.h.

CITY DRIVING STOP AND GO IS 17-19 M.P.G. AVG.

Just heard new car may use an engine oil / other oils different with normal oils, is it true?

otherwise, what's the reason the mpg during break-in is so low?

thank you.

are you going by the navi computer for the mpg ? b/c if you dont clear it after you fill your tank, it could be in-accurate
