Changed From and Acura TL to B9

hi everyone,
i've actually been registered for about 2 months now butt just thought i'd introduce myself and say hi. anyway i traded in my 2005 acura TL and went for the B9 in July. Until i got the TL last year i had a always owned a 4x4. first it was a Toy 4 Runner and then a Toy Rav4. I really have nothing bad to say about my TL. I loved the car except when i got stuck in the snow a few times last year. this is when i thought i'd go back to a 4x4 and after seeing the 5 seater Tribeca limited i really did not have to look anymore. My only dissapointment is the fact that i did not wait for the 07 and get the XM with it. so now i have a XM unit attached to my windshield.

As for modification i have done and would like to do.... my first upgrade was changing the wheels. i upgraded to a 20in Venti chromes last week and my next project is to research about upgrading the current stereo and installing the factory XM. I'm extremely anal and having the small unit sticking out of my windshield drives me nuts.... Does anyone know if this is possible? i'm not sure how the wiring works but common sense tells me that this is not that hard a project. On the acurazine.com i have seen guys upgrade from the non Nav to the Nav on the TL's and that my friends took a lot of patience.

Upgraded the headlights to to 6000K HIDs

The only other upgrade i'm considering is changing the front grill to the 07 chrome. I saw someone had a link for $595 but i found one a little bit cheaper if anyone else is looking.

My last question is does anyone know if the back of the stereo has an aux input? my XM receiver has and Aux out and if there is an input I can wire it directly to the stereo and this would greatly improve the quality i think.

anyway i'll post some pics in the Gallary... the pics with the new wheels will follow in about a week or so since i have not taken any yet.

If someone can let me know about the stereo i would greatly appreciate it. In the meantime i will post any info i find in the future

Cheers
S

Welcome! Great looking vehicle.

As to your aux input question, here is a link to a thread (by Peaty) on that subject in another forum. You'll have to sign up to see the pics, I think.

Edit:
BTW, did you get the puddle lights? If not, that is a mod you might want to do. They are very cool looking.

Kooldak,
Thanks for the link!! for a min i thought i missed those inputs but mine does not have it. there is a slot for it though. I'm thinking that comes with the B9 which has the DVD player or possibly the 7 seater. Anyhow this being there tells me that more than likely the A/V inputs are in the back of the headunit as well... probably will try to pull it out and look this Sunday. If i do it this week i'll try to make a DIY and take some pics.

the puddle lights did come pre installed. however i did buy the mudflaps but so far i've only been able to install the back. the front seems to be a little bit of a p.i.a because drilling is involved but i will put this on before it gets cold.

again... thanks for the link!

Cheers!

Thanks Peaty!

BTW i took out the Stereo last eve but could not get pictures(batts were down and did not have the patience to wait). it's really easy to remove but there are no jacks whatsoever in the back. the wires probably link in thru the harness at some point. the face of the stereo/climate control are all one piece which attaches to the head unit thru a clip on connection. so the answer to my other question of installing the factory XM would be that the whole face(with XM button) would have to be added as well as changing the wiring harness as well...?
