I was curious if I could take out the GPS DVD and put in a movie DVD and watch it through the Navigation screen. I understand you'd have to be in Park, which is fine. I just wanted to know if it was possible. Thanks!

No, you can't put a movie DVD in the navigation DVD slot under the seat. You must have the rear seat entertainment (RSE) system to get DVD playback on the navi screen (when in park). If you cut and ground the parking brake line to the navi screen you can get DVD playback while driving as well, but still obviously have to have the RSE system.

If you're electronically adept, there is a way to input video directly to the navi screen, but this requires removal of the screen and stringing a video cable to a portable video device. The audio can go straight to the built in aux input in the center console armrest. Search the ICE/Security forum, kmartin did this first b/c she only has navi and no RSE system.
