Now that I have a auto dimmer mirror for the Tribeca, I don't think I could ever own a car without one. You don't realize how good it is until you drive a car without it at night and you have to constantly manually dim it. Go for it.

I enjoy the dim mirror in my cars, but did not see it necessary for the Tribeca since it has a factory tint on it. The only thing that I missed was the compass, so I bought one that installs in the back of the mirror.

My tint must not be as dark

I'm suprised that your tint is dark enough to block out someones headlights. I have a factory tint in OH (not sure of %) and I've turned it off just to see how it is with out it and when the auto dim is off I have to move the mirror or I have difficulty seeing.

I think it's a great feature and I too don't think i'll ever drive another car with out one. Once you go auto dim, it's hard to go back.

Yep, was surprised too. The little height might have helped a bit as well. I have not had an occasion where I thought, well I wished I had it here... yet. I do notice it everytime when I have to move it. The regular mirror is much smaller than the auto dims.
