Any one tried to remove the air intake silencer from their Tribeca yet? While I had the passengers side headlight out, I noticed this connected to the underside of the airbox. I made a quick attempt at removing it but didn't have any luck. Any one else taken a look at this?
I know many guys that retain their stock airbox with their WRX's delete this piece. It gives you more of a "whooshing" sound and supposedly increased air flow, although I'm sure gains are minimal.
Next time I clean the air filter I'm going to take the airbox out and see how this can be removed, and if it actually makes a difference.

I've also come accross this silicone intake hose made by Samco. Certainly isn't cheap though....

Look under T.N Guts...retails for $243 BEFORE shipping from Japan lol.

wondering

I have performed this mod.... the only thing is that while I do most of the maintainance myself I do when Im busy or for work like the tranny fluid/filter and what ever 30k service I have to switch mod back to stock so that my warranty isn't void...

It voids the warranty right?
