Hello from Utah.
Just picked up a new Tribeca to replace my wife's 2000 Outback. We have 3 big dogs and a 4 month old little girl so we wanted a bit bigger vehicle for her and a more economical family car. I have a 2004 Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel that I use as a daily driver and for towing our trailer.
We went on our first family road trip to the in-laws on Idaho this last weekend and this car was fantastic. We were all very comfortable and we got 20.4 MPG hand calc'd. Sweet!
I'm 5'11 and 250# and we were having a hell of a time finding something that could accomodate the baby seat, three dogs between 130 and 85 #'s and my girth comfortably. This is the rig.
Now I just need to find an excuse to drive it more....

Welcome to the board.

Had my trip turn out to be about 21. 7 mpg for 22 hour trip (both ways), fully loaded.

How long was your drive?

Enjoy the new vehicle.

About 220 miles each way was all. Fully loaded PLUS a Thule cargo doo-hickie.
Our "old" family car was my Dodge and 15 hwy was GREAT! Good to hear that 20 wasn't a fluke and I can expect better.
