My daily driver. I do most of the maintenance on it with the exception of AC work.
I purchased with with 18,000 miles in 2005 and today it has over 238,000.
It has the typical engine oil leaks for the 5.3 Vortex engine, but recently the #3 cylinder valve seals have been leaking. It goes through quite a bit of oil and smokes pretty good about every 3rd or 4th start. Not motivated to pull the valve covers off and change the seals, so I'm just going to live with it as long as I can afford the oil.
I'm also chasing a steering leak; replaced one leaking hose and the other began leaking, replaced it and the rack is now leaking. Two bottles of Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak seem to have slowed the leak, but it is still leaking enough to leave a mess on the driveway.
I was hoping the Tahoe would last like my 02 Yukon XL. It got totaled after a fender bender at a little over 336,000 miles, but the Tahoe has the same problems as my Yukon had at much lower mileage. Looking to replace it within a year.
