Question 2011-2012 Volvo S60 T6....who has an opinion on Volvos?

So my gf is looking to unload her 2007 Tribeca for a new Volvo S60 T6 (AWD). She did some research (which she never does) and found that the S60 isn't the fastest, but she test drove it w/o me tonight and said she liked it a lot.

Invoice less 1% hold back is ~ $41.5k. It will have an inline 6 turbo @ 300hp, nav, xenon, 5yrs maintenance and a bunch of other nice options.

It's a little smaller then my 3.6R, but she won't buy one b/c I already have one.

Anyone here have any experience with Volvos and overall impressions in owning an older one? Thoughts on the new S60? She didn't like the 3 or 5 series BMW, kinda liked a G37x and not interested in an IS250.

We sold our 04 V70 to purchase the 08 Tribeca. We needed the extra head and leg room for tall teens. The Volvo, in my opinion, was a much better vehicle. The Subaru feels "tinny" for lack of a better word, in fact, the cheap thin tin and spot welds were broken on the drivers seat when purchased, and the PO was not a big man. I've owned several Volvos with no major issues. Brakes, control arm bushings, but nothing serious. The Subaru has a great AWD system, probably better than any but they still have the cheap "Japanese car" feeling.

BTW, my Subaru has an external head gasket leak, drivers side, middle cylinder that hopefully the dealer will address prior to the warranty expiration. Much the same as the 01 Legacy I owned in the past.

My wife likes the Subaru, I don't, it uses much more fuel, the tank is too small, and it feels cheap.....But that's my opinion, I'm sure there are many who will chip in to the contrary.

I had an '88 740GLE and loved it! The only reason I gave her up was because I found two holes in the frame the size of my fist among other small issues that started to happen. It was surprisingly good in the snow for a rear wheel drive and it would turn on a dime, turning circle was tight!
Personally I do like the newer volvo's but most probably wouldnt keep one for anymore than 3-4 years.
