Hi there, one of the main reasons I joined the forum was to ask about and discuss what people think about getting an aftermarket coilover or some other type of suspension modifications for the B9.

there was once an article from cobb tuning that stated they did some some work to the tribeca but they never got much interest and they scrapped the idea. They mated it with 20 inch wheels, and I think it was motor trend that did the article, but the writer felt that the overall performance was affected by the bigger tires.

I spoke with Tein usa today on the phone, the guy on the phone quickly stated that they do not make any aftermarket parts for the tribeca. They did have a coilover setup for the forrester (I think last model year before change) but the guy also said it is not something that they stock normally, it is something that they sell more overseas in the asian market. When I looked at the website, they have a section for test vehicles that they are looking for in the california area. I asked him how to get onto that list and he told me I could speak with the people at sales, email them and they would have it on file.

When you look around, there aren't many suv's on the market that beg to be thrown into a turn. I don't think that many of us flipped a coin over getting a porsche cayenne or the B9. I haven't had a chance to beat on the infiniti fx or an srt8 jeep, but I still like what you get from the subaru platform. From driving many passenger cars, I would put the stock suspension setups for the impreza and legacy line up against any other cars out there. In the past I put Tein coilovers on a wrx and never looked back.

If people are interested, I would like to see how many names we can get together of members and none members that would like to see if we can get a major suspension maker to look at our vehicles and see if they have something in there product lineup that can work, or if they will design something that will work.

If we can get that off the ground, great, if not we may have to look into other venues. The hard thing is, if we get someone (small company etc) to make a product, it could cost a fortune with all the new tooling, design, production etc. Also, unless the orders are going to be huge, it would almost have to be sold as off road use only, ie, they are not going to go through all of the hoops of the dot and lawsuits etc.

tell me what you think,
I am all ears
