Unfortunately the B9 didn't make the list. What was up with the XT's interior though...

Yeah that XT interior just confused me.

Yes, I saw this too. A lot of negative comments about the list, mostly from unimaginative owners? At least Subaru was compared to Jaguar in the same sentence by a commentator, even if the comparison was less than complimentary. It certainly was not accurate!

Don't lambaste me for saying this, but I just don't get it. I've never thought Subaru made stylish looking cars. Other than the Tribeca, I've never thought any of their models were very attractive. To me Subies have always been about capability and reliability.

I think Subaru has pushed boundaries, and probably used a very small focus group that agreed with their designs. That or they didn't use a focus group at all. I respect any automaker who tries things, rather than those who just adopt a me-too design mantra that follows someone else's lead.

That said, I do wish the 08-09 tribeca was a little less subdued-a-la-Chrysler in the front, but not as avant garde as the 06-07. I'm looking for the happy middle.

The legacy is a fine looking car, and I've always liked how the Outback's look, and now the Forrester is more palatable for more people...

With you on that. The current Legacy is a fine looking car but the view over here is that the Tribeca is the ugliest of a long line of very ugly cars. This (and the lack of a diesel) is why you can still pick up new '07 cars for a song.
Its nice to own cars based on their technical merit rather than badge/status etc...
Now if only they could sort out the bloody gearbox on the 'Beca that argument would hold true!
