Just got called into the boss' office. Business is really bad and he said that he needs to cut me down to a 4 day work week. So I now have Fridays off and a 20% paycut. I'm not saying it's not going to hurt, but financially between myself and my gf we are ok (and I hate just being ok). So I guess the silver lining is underemployed is better then unemployed. I get to keep all my benefits and vacation days so that is a plus. This is expected to last through the summer.

I was thinking either walking dogs in my complex (since I have to walk mine anyway), be a cashier at my local car wash or just whore myself out for odd jobs in my townhouse complex.

So I'll be home every Friday and I'm trying to think of something to do to get a few dollars in my pocket. If anyone has any suggestions, please post up. I just want something that pays cash.

Thoughts?

Like you said, underemployment is certainly better than UNemployment. I was shaking in my boots yesterday. I work for Caterpillar and yesterday was doomsday for MANY people. Thankfully, I made it through this round of cuts. But the plant is shutting down for 2 wks in July, there is talk of another week in March and everyone is forced to use their vacation at that time (if they have vacation time). I am taking next week off because my wife is being induced on Monday, so I'll have some unpaid time off this year. But I am certainly not complaining. I am very thankful to still have a job. Our facility is also cutting out the third shift completely and production is moving to a 4 day work week. I am in logistics and the decision hasn't been made yet as to whether we'll continue with 5 days or go down to 4 ten hour days. Either way, I'll be thankful to be employed. But like you, I'd definitely consider picking up some extra cash on my Fridays.
