ABS error

We have a 2006 and just today after a few minutes off running the ABS light comes on and Er 55 shows in the odometer window. Also the traction / stability control is disabled.Does anyone here know what this error code is?
Or where I can get a list of the error codes. Off course the Car is now out of warrenty. I assume (hope) it is a sensor and not one of those little magic boxes that have way to many numbers in it price.

FWIW the error code is really "Er SS" and is for a wheel speed sensor. Doesn't specify which one. Turns out it was our right rear.

Same thing just happened on my wife's. Pulling apart speed sensors tonight because (of course) she's got an inspection appointment tomorrow morning.
