Name that mystery port!!!

So, does anyone know what the hell the port on the rear bumper on the passenger side is for?

I asked this at the LA Auto Show premier for the '06 model and they had no idea. My dealership's service department isn't sure either.

I popped off the cap and found what looks kind of like a pop-in port, but what does it do?

It's for the rear tow eye hook to screw in. Look on page 9-16 of the owners manual The front one is just to the inside of the right front fog lamp (notice that part pulls off)

yes that cover coms out and you screw your tow eye in the hole mercedes benz has the same thing
