I was trolling around and wondering if this OEM cat back exhaust will do anything for my 08 Impreza Outback Sport.

I'm not that mechanically inclined. I want to know if this will just make a lot of noise or will it actually do something?

It's got some nice looking mandrel bends...performance wise on a non-turbo 4-banger, you're only looking at a few HP on the high rpm side (2-5HP). Nothing that would make an actual difference by itself.

It'll make more noise (good or bad I dunno:p) than power. My guess is that it wouldn't sound too much like a fart cannon since it's supposedly an SPT part.

Best bet would be to check out NASIOC to see what they have to say.

It will give you a couple of HP and being an SPT part the sound will be very calm in comparison to like an HKS, Invidia, etc.

In case anyone was wondering, I've heard that the 08 Impreza SPT CBE is fairly loud and some members on Nasioc ended up going back to stock and selling the CBE off.
