Ok,
From my other thread, most of you know that I am thinking of buying a new Impreza Outback Sport. I love the car; the way it looks, handles great, decent power. I test drove it again in the rain and it did great.

I drove the Civic today and it's still a solid car. I almost miss it already. I'm kinda thinking if I'm doing the right thing. The Impreza meets all of my needs that the Civic can't do.....but I guess I'm sorta "emotionally" attached.

What do you guys/ gals think?

:Dunno:

We sometimes sell cars for customers to make it easier for them. Yesterday, one customer came in with her 1994 Accord which she just replaced with a new one and she was just about crying when we gave her a ride home. It was as if she gave up her child.
To me it's just a car. FWIW, the Civic most likely get better fuel economy than the Imprezza, but we just traded an Outback 1998 for a Tribeca 2006.

I personnally love my 03 Accord EX-L V6 coupe...it was/is the first new car I bought myself after college. I'm keeping it as my daily driver, hopefully for another couple yrs...my goal is to hit at least 250k (presently at 163k). I'll definitely be sad to see it go, but as long as I get myself something comparable or better, I'll get over it quick enough;)

And the Civic will definitely get better mileage than the OB Sport. Our 06 2.5i Legacy only manages 22-24 mpg mixed, 28 highway (max). OB Sport should be just about the same...my old 98 Civic could easily get 30 mpg no problems. I'm keeping the Accord, b/c even in my oft traffic filled commute, I still manage a real 29 mpg w/ the V6...not many cars can do that well, even 4-bangers. Best I've scene on the highway is 35 mpg! Drove out to PA, and when I got gas I was thinking there's no way I still have a 1/4 tank left, lol.

To be honest, I'm not that concerned about the MPG's. Making the switch to the OB will be more fun, utilitarian and just something new. I'm going to get $200 under invoice and 3.9% so the numbers make a lot of sense.

I guess I'm just sad to see the Civic go since I've only been driving Civics for 7+ years.

I, too, had a Civic; a 1993 Coupe Si. I had it for 8 years. I did a few mods like the exhaust, suspension, rims and tires. The gas mileage was great. I was sad to sell it, but it went to good hands.

Then I bought a 2000 2.5 RS. The driving experience was like night and day. Can't beat the AWD. I still have the RS. Now, I wouldn't think of buying another Civic because it's only FWD. I would only buy it just for the great gas mileage.

Well, I posted the Civic today on Craigslist and already got four emails about it.

I wish i had more room for all of my old Subaru's :(
I had a good range of vehicles (counts w/ fingers and toes) and still am fortunate enough to have friends that own cars that I will never be able to afford.. like M3/M5's, Porsche, etc
Overall, Suabru's are a little more down the middle of your perfect car (well ROUNDED).. no matter what you want to question or throw at them.. it can be handled with little or no fuss. I think, I will never be moved to another manufactuer.
