I have added 1 picture of the lights connected up.

I'm thinking of trying something different. How hot does those Audi's look with those day time LED running lights. Well out Tribeca's have the perfect spot for them on the wing part of our grill. Should I give it a go and try and get something to fit. On ebay you can actually buy the Audi strip LED light, and I should be able to modify it to fit. Do a search on ebay for "Audi LED" and tell me what you think. Thanks.

Interesting idea. Would you run that to a switch or directly to the DRL's? I wouldn't mind seeing it done. Give it a try!

Here's a pic of what I believe he is talking about.

Yea thats it, how good would that look. It should fit in our wings ok. I think I would run it straight to our DRL's.

I have finally recieved the lights fom Germany. Would you believe they are nearly a perfect fit for our Tribeca. I will have them fitted in the next few weeks with photos up soon. I can't wait. I'm hooking them up so they are on all the time. Also when I unlock my car they will come on with my puddle lights.

Yeah I've seen Audi's around here with them. If you notice, when you turn on the turn signal, that side's LED bar turns off.

Wow, nice...you're right they are a near perfect fit/width. Which Audi are those sourced from RS6/S8?

Agreed, wow. Looks like it was made for it. I'm guessing you are going to attach it via double sided automotive tape? Be sure to do a DIY with pics.

I'm going to remove the bumper the install them from behind, I'm really wanting a factory look. I will cut out part of the grill to get a perfect fit. Don't worry I'll post pics.

What did you pay for the lights?

What did you pay for the lights?

They were around $300 for the pair. Not bad considering the are Audi originals.

Well I got them fitted, I had an issue with the depth of them, we have some obstructions behind the grill to prevent them from being set more into the grill. I'll be honest I'm not 100% sure of the look, what do you guys think? I still have to hook them up, probably next week.

The lights look good, I wouldn't mind them I just think that they look a little wierd sticking out that far. It would be totally sweet if they were set in further. The lights should be bright though and thats a plus.

I agree, they would look much better set in flush.

It looks bad sitting out there that far. It would probably look good if they were flush or even recessed a bit

I'm gonna have to agree...its not terrible, but would look better more flush. In your teaser pics (post #14) you are actually holding them upside down from your installed orientation. If you flip them over and swap sides the "flat" side would be up...does that gain you any clearance to push them back in farther? I think it could look better if you place the LEDs flush against the top side of the grill and that slanted side would sweep back into the grill and look less noticeable sticking out.

Yea they wouldn't fit like the teaser shot, the lights themselves were too deep. I agree with all the comments, I think I might just take them out. (Note to Subaru), can the next Tribeca have some form of LED driving lights, we like them!

snork

Hmm...that's too bad:( You could get brave and really get into some cutting to get them to fit I'm sure. Either way, props for your efforts:tup:

I'm going to give it one more try, I will try and drop them and set them in more so there flush, I will post more pics if successful.

OK, I got them connected to see what they would look like, they are the brightest LED's I've ever seen. Very visible during the day.

Great Job Hum!!! Saw a set of those on an older VW GTI and thought they looked nice.... They look even better on the Tribeca! Is there room for a second row of lights in the slot below? Would be killer to have 4 rows blinding onlookers!!

The install is the same as the pics above, they still stick out a bit. I wanted to get them connected to see if I like it before I spend any more money on trying to get a better fit.

I have them connected so they come on when the car is on. If you think they are bright during the day you should see them at night. They really need a dimmer put on them for night use. I think you can buy the original audi module on ebay that dims them when you put your lights on.

Hah, nice! If they are bright enough, you could probably just turn on parking lights at night?
