Ok, this is for you semi-professional photographers.

My boss wants me to do small photo shoots of baby products for his presentations. I def need better light sources and a something short of an SLR (I'm thinking of a Canon S5IS). I could use some suggestions.

Magic,

Not sure if you will get the results that you need, but I own that camera and love it!

I replaced an Olympus 10x optical zoom and a Sony video cam with the Canon S5 IS and so far, so good. It is really handy to be able to shoot great video as well as great photos while just lugging around one camera.

For the point and shoots with somewhat of a slr capability, I tend to go towards the G series over the S series. Recently though, they seem to be switching in form (merging).
