Hello, all. New here. Have the 07, Obsidian Black SE. I'm in the middle of installing a rear gate bar.

My choices are:

The stainless/chrome to match the door handles:

http://mycarworx.com/store/Tribeca_RGateBar.html

Black to match the car:

The stainless is from mycarworx, though not OEM, is made specifically for the Tribeca.
The black, though Subaru, is for the Outback.

Which would you choose? Anyone actually install a rear gate bar? Any unforseen challenge?

Looks a bit different from mycarworx, though could be just the pic angle. I dont know of any other that offers that bar. I'll have to PM him for some info on the chrome one.

Are ppl actually having problems opening the rear hatch? It feels pretty light to me and even my 5'3" wife hasn't had any problems with opening the rear hatch.

Its the closing that's the issue. Having a bar makes for a much easier close.
