Just wondering if other Tribeca owners face the same issue as myself, but I have noticed it does not take too much of a dip in temperatures for the power windows to get stuck/freeze in winter. My other cars in the same conditions outside don't seem to have this issue. I'm not sure if the window motor is not strong enough, or if there is a design issue trapping more moisture down inside the door. I've read to spray some silicone down there and that should help.

Any tips or recommendations?
(and my warranty is over, so I'd rather not have the dealership investigate at my expense).

thanks in advance :)

I'm having the same issue. This is my second winter with the car and the first time it happened to me was a few days ago. They moved slightly -- just enough to see the felts at the bottom of the windows budge, but the windows would not open. They stayed frozen, even after driving the car long enough (15-20 mins) to fully get the engine up to temperature and the interior warm. It's been below freezing here, so I haven't bothered to try them again. I'm not sure if the glass is glued or bolted to the frames, so I'm worried about pulling them out of the tracks.

Once I get the car warm enough to open the windows I'll be lightly spraying the weatherstrip with silicone -- that ought to do the trick. I doubt the motors ever freeze.

Sorry, we've never had an issue in our 07.
