Along both sides of my 06 Burgundy Tribeca (I think officially it is called Mahogony Pear) there are white splatter marks as if I had driven through white mud. It is smooth to the touch- I have taken it to the dealer- who said "rock chips"; to a detailer that said "clear coat defect" and to a body shop that said "clear coat or paint defect". Anyone else have a similar problem or know what it may be?

The detailer said he had never seen anything like it and the body shop said he has seen somthing similar with after market coatings (which I have :( )

Thanks for any input!

Well if you took it to three professionals w/ three different answers. Start with the least abrasive methods. Try clay and some light polishing to see what happens.

What aftermarket coating do you have?

it may be a clearcoat issue..like in the 06 Gold, do some investigating and see if others have the issue as well, i never heard of it on the burgandy BUT they discontinued that color for 07, along with the Opel Gold so maybe it is a defect which means they are going to pay for a repaint job
