I just got my a/c fixed by the dealership. They said that the o-rings had leaked. The symptoms were weird. We lost a/c intermitantly on the driver side. It would cycle on and off without rhyme or reason.

The CARMAX dealer said with the 103-5° temps, they're seeing an a/c case a day because of increased head pressures. My concern is that I'm taking a trip across West Texas (read Desert) in two weeks towing a small camper and I don't want high head pressures to blow this system again in 120° heat with the family on board. My 97 Expedition has never had this problem and it has been through the gauntlet but I'd obviously prefer to use the truck with fewer miles.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue?

If you're towing, did you have the tranny cooler?

Yes, I got everything prepared for towing. Transcooler, brake controller...
