Default 2007 Satellite Radio Install

I have a 2007 B9 Tribeca that is "prewired" for satellite radio I just cannot find out what exactly that means. I want to purchase a Tuner but wasn't sure if an antenna is already in the vehicle or what else is needed to use factory satellite radio.

I am interested too!
What needs to be bought and mounted to have the digital radio tuner?

well, the xm tuner sits under the radio, and has its own antenna, plug is for it is a pass thru, meaning you plug radio harness into it, and then plug the new combined harness back into the radio,

does your faceplate have an xm button? this is where main question is,

ps i have xm system on a shelf i can take pics and post, if anyone wants it ill be happy to sell.

As long as you have the SAT button on your control panel, all you need is the XM kit (p/n: H621SXA000). Unfortunately, the kit is out of production, so unless a dealership has one buried in a closet somewhere, you might need to score one on the secondary market (eBay), or piece together the parts from a salvage yard.

The installation instructions (attached) show the individual parts pictorially, but don't list any description or part numbers. But basically, you need the tuner (A), antenna (B), mounting brackets (C/D), wiring harness connecting the sat tuner to the H/U and the display (E), and the antenna connector (F). As an alternative to C/D, you could pull the mounting bracket out of a DVD-equipped model.

As you'll see on page 5 of the instructions, "pre-wired" means that you have an antenna wire already installed (from the audio compartment to above the courtesy lights) that prevents you from having to route the sat antenna wire all the way around.
